Victory Gym, our coaching team is thrilled to announce our May Athlete of the Month! This is someone who shows up day in and day out, ready to train and be a part of our community. She’s full of expertise yet extremely humble in her athleticism, which speaks volumes about her character. Please give it up for Ali Amalfitano! She is a great example of how to be loyal to a sport; constantly practicing, succeeding, and setting goals to keep pushing her forward. We’re thankful to have you in our gym Ali and proud of your dedication to the sport of CrossFit.

Q: How long have you been going to Victory Gym? What changes have you seen in yourself (physically or mentally) since joining?
I have been a member of Victory Gym for a little over a year. I have been doing Crossfit for 11 years and the biggest change I’ve seen in myself since joining Victory has been a renewed excitement for Crossfit itself. I love the programming and the coaching! I look forward to coming to the gym every day.
Q: How has your journey at Victory Gym helped you outside the gym?
Crossfit has given me so much more confidence in myself. I have gained not only physical strength, but mental strength as well.
Q: Who inspires you at the gym, and how do they inspire you?
I honestly can’t pick just one person. Every day there is someone who tries something new, who goes out of their comfort zone, who shows up when they’re tired, who isn’t afraid to fail a little at first, and that’s what inspires me the most.
Q: How would you describe what it’s like to be a part of Victory Gym?
I absolutely love the community at Victory Gym! The people are amazing and it always feels so welcoming.
Q: Tell us about your first day of class at Victory Gym.
My first day at Victory was a Saturday morning and afterwards we had a little pizza party in the parking lot (thanks Kyle). Victory has been my Crossfit home ever since!
Q: What is something that we may not know about you?
I actually saw a ghost while on a ghost tour downtown last summer.
Q: What are your top 3 memories or proudest moments in CrossFit?
My top 3 memories / proudest moments would have to be 1) having the courage to walk into a CrossFit gym for the very first time 2) my first muscle up on the rings 3) making lifelong friends who also value the importance of fitness and living a healthy lifestyle.
Q: Moving forward, do you have any short term or long term goals in the gym?
My number one goal is longevity. I hope to be doing Crossfit for as long as possible.
