Victory Gym, we are so excited to announce our March Athlete of the Month – WOOOHOO! This athlete is consistent, kind, humble and hard-working. Her loyalty to her fitness is steady, motivated, and dedicated to keeping herself healthy as she faces every season of life. In addition, she is our most consistent DIY member at Victory. Please give a warm congrats to JULIA PECKHAM!

Q: How long have you been going to Victory Gym? What changes have you seen in yourself (physically or mentally) since joining?

A: I have been a member of Victory since August 2023. The gym always provides me with so much positivity, not only for my physical health but also for my mental health.

Q: How has your journey at Victory Gym impacted you outside the gym?

A: It’s an instant mood booster once I leave the gym. Allows me to perform better professionally and personally. I get some of my best ideas between sets on that squat rack:).

Q: Who is someone that inspires you in fitness? (could be inside or outside the gym)

A: Honestly, I’m inspired by all walks of life. Whether it’s a newcomer trying CrossFit for the first time, a mother coming back for the first time after having a baby, or a seasoned professional who dedicates their life to a sport, everyone has a different goal and journey. Still, we all share that fitness improves our quality of life.

Q: What is your favorite type of workout? (i.e; CrossFit, cardio, training a certain muscle group, yoga, etc)

A: I love to dabble in a little bit of everything, but legs/glutes are probably my favorite.

Q: What is something that we may not know about you?

A: I was born and raised in a small fishing town in south-central Alaska. My father was a Fisherman, and commercial fishing was my first job.

Q: What are your top 3 memories or proudest moments in your fitness journey?

A: I think what I’m most proud of is that even as I age, my body continues to get stronger and healthier. Another proud moment is being able to share my love of fitness with my husband. We met at Crossfit and have shared many comps, opens, and workouts together, and it’s something I will always treasure.

Q: As you progress in fitness, what are some of your short-term and long-term goals?

A: My short-term goal: My husband and I recently discovered we were expecting and hope to maintain a healthy, fit pregnancy. My long-term goal: Share my love for fitness in the personal training space in some capacity.
